3 weeks and counting...

It's just over three weeks until I start my University experience and I couldn't be more excited.
I really can't wait to pack up all my things, move into my own house, decorate my new room, meet my housemates, and get incredibly intoxicated. I guess I'm to be the stereotypical fresher, in the sense that I'll be getting drunk at every available opportunity.

Since I've found out I've got my place at University, I've been trying my hand at things that i'll have to do while there. This involves cooking, cleaning clothes, ironing clothes... surviving really. My parents are currently on holiday so it's just me, the brother (who I rarely see) and the dog.

  • Cooking is going okay, I wouldn't say I can cook though, more, heat things up in the oven, I've been making kormas, omelettes, pizza, pies and ribs. So far so good, not burnt the house down but I still have no concept of money as most of this was already bought by mum before she went away.
  • Cleaning has been a relative success. I've washed my clothes, hung them on the washing line to dry and attempted ironing. I definitely need help with ironing. I seem to just iron it straight, accidentally iron a crease and the crease won't disappear.
The only major thing that's happened since they've been gone is that I locked the garage door keys inside the garage. I was distracted and shut the garage while I took the dog for a walk. I had to call a locksmith, only to find my auntie's garage door key worked so I got in but then still had to pay half the amount for the locksmith because i'd wasted his time. Oh well.

I'm completely ready other than that. Just a few forms to fill in. Got my pots, my pans, my glasses, my cutlery, my laundry basket, my bedding. Found 5 housemates via facebook who seem nice, still unsure where the other 6 housemates are hiding though, I'm hoping they're relatively normal who are up for a laugh and like house parties... seriously, I'm actually worried about that, I've heard some where i'm going can be a bit... well... not my type. We're teenagers, in our first year, let's have fun, get drunk, dance and have a good time before second year dawns on us and we have to do even more work and don't have the excuse of being a fresher.

Tonight I'm off out with a few friends from college. I can't seem to spend a weekend in... roll on freshers week!
